Abstract

Assessment reforms in education are crucial for fostering meaningful learning and bridging the gap between knowledge acquisition and its practical application. This paper explores the shift from traditional content-based assessments to competency-based evaluation, emphasizing the importance of skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and adaptability in today’s rapidly evolving world. Competency-based evaluation focuses on measuring a learner’s ability to apply knowledge in real-world scenarios, thereby aligning assessments with contemporary educational goals.

The study examines the principles underpinning competency-based assessment, including personalized learning paths, mastery of specific competencies, and formative evaluation methods.
