Abstract
The present research explores the effect of LM principles on operational performance within a confectionary production setting, using structured questionnaire responses from 60 respondents in six functional departments IBM SPSS was used for conducting seven data analysis methods, which include cross-tabulation with Chi-Square test, reliability test (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.918), one-way ANOVA, multivariate regression, Pearson correlation coefficient, frequency distribution, and descriptive analysis. It was concluded that organization of work according to the 5S methodology (β = 0.381, p = .022) and Just-in-time (β = 0.270, p = .016) are the main predictors of productivity improvement and account for 56.8% variance (R² = 0.568). Pearson correlation confirms the interrelationship between managerial support and employee involvement as the most correlated variables (r = 0.768), which proves the person-based approach to implementing lean systems. Absence of training constitutes the biggest obstacle (35%).
