Abstract

Despite comprising nearly half of India’s population, women remain underrepresented in the country’s political landscape. This paper examines the current state of women’s participation in Indian politics, highlighting the challenges they face and the opportunities for empowerment. Empowering women in Indian politics is crucial for promoting gender equality, challenging patriarchal norms, and ensuring inclusive governance. Despite some progress, women remain underrepresented in Indian politics, facing numerous challenges that hinder their participation.
