Abstract
Digital humanities is the emerging field that studies the co-influence of digital technologies and the humanities, leading to new and innovative ways of analyzing, interpreting, and preserving literature. Considering the methods, the operations, and the paradigms that have taken shape, this survey paper explores how Digital Humanities is in the process of transforming literary studies. It demonstrates how literary studies can be enriched by an application of computational text analysis, digital archiving, data visualisation, and network analysis. It also touches on key conversations on accessibility, interdisciplinarity and the ethical implications of digitising literary heritage. These digital methods not just enrich traditional literary research, as this review argues, but also generate new trajectories towards creativity and collaboration by pooling together recent studies, projects, and technical advancements. Ultimately, it gives a detailed snapshot of how Digital Humanities continue to shape the contours and possibilities of literary studies within the current academy.
