Abstract
Bipolar disorder is a chronic and severe mental health condition marked by alternating episodes of mania and depression, significantly affecting the psychological, social, and functional aspects of an individual’s life. This study aims to explore the multidimensional impact of bipolar disorder on individuals, focusing on emotional well-being, interpersonal relationships, occupational functioning, and quality of life. Using a qualitative research design with a phenomenological approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with individuals diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Thematic analysis revealed key areas of impact, including emotional instability, social isolation, workplace difficulties, and internalized stigma. Findings highlight the importance of comprehensive treatment plans that incorporate medical, psychological, and social support systems. The study underscores the need for increased awareness and stigma reduction to enhance the lived experiences and outcomes of individuals with bipolar disorder.
