Abstract
Environmentalism has evolved into a significant global movement that calls for the protection, conservation, and responsible management of natural resources. Its influence has extended beyond activism and government policy into the strategic operations of industries worldwide. One such sector experiencing this transformation is banking, which is increasingly aligning its services and policies with environmental sustainability. The growing urgency of climate change, coupled with public demand for responsible business practices, has compelled financial institutions to rethink their traditional roles. In this context, the concept of Green Banking has emerged as a forward-looking approach that integrates environmental considerations into financial services. Green Banking encompasses practices such as digital banking to reduce paper use, offering green loans for eco-friendly projects, funding renewable energy ventures, and adopting energy-efficient infrastructure. These initiatives reflect a broader commitment to reducing carbon emissions, conserving resources, and supporting sustainable development goals.
