Orphanage is a complex social issue in India. These institutions provide shelter to children who have lost their parents or who cannot be raised by their parents. In some ashrams, children’s rights are violated. This includes physical and mental abuse, neglect, and denial of educational opportunities. It is a big challenge to integrate orphanage children into mainstream society. They often face social stigma and have difficulty in obtaining employment opportunities. Many shelters do not have enough trained staff to care for the children. The adoption process in India is quite complex and involves many legal and bureaucratic hurdles. Current status and efforts Talking about the situation, the government has taken many initiatives to improve orphanages. This includes nutrition schemes, providing education opportunities and simplifying the adoption process. …2 Many NGOs are working for orphan children.
